Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Summary

Build and deploy full-stack AI applications and agentic workflows for enterprise clients, turning ambiguous problems into production systems with measurable impact.

Galileo Search is recruiting 3x 1 Forward Deployed AI Engineers for current project work with blue-chip Australian clients.

About the Role

You will be the engineer in the room when an unclear business problem has to become a production system. You will work directly with users, write the code, make product calls and own the path from the first useful workflow to secure, measurable adoption.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with customers, business leaders and end users to understand real operational problems
  • Turn ambiguous workflows into a clear technical scope and the smallest useful production release
  • Design, build and deploy full-stack AI applications, agentic workflows and internal tools
  • Connect models to enterprise data and systems through APIs, retrieval pipelines, tool calling and MCP servers
  • Build the production layer around the model, including evaluation, observability, permissions, security, cost and human oversight
  • Move quickly from prototype to production without leaving behind fragile experiments
  • Support adoption, measure workflow impact and improve what you have shipped from real user feedback
  • Turn successful delivery patterns into reusable components, playbooks and product improvements
Qualifications
  • Five or more years of software engineering, applied AI or technical deployment experience
Required Skills
  • Strong production coding ability in Python, TypeScript or a comparable language
  • Evidence that you have shipped software used by real customers or employees
  • Hands‑on experience building or deploying LLM and generative AI systems, such as RAG, agents, tool use, evaluation pipelines or workflow automation
  • Experience integrating with real enterprise environments, including APIs, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, authentication and security controls
  • Product judgement: you can decide what should be built, reduce scope intelligently and explain the trade‑offs
  • Confidence working directly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Comfort operating independently when the requirements are incomplete and the environment changes quickly
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in any of the following will strengthen your application:
  • Enterprise or regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, government or critical infrastructure
  • Agent frameworks including LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Google ADK or comparable orchestration tools
  • Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI or another major cloud AI platform
  • Enterprise authentication and permissions, including OAuth, SAML, SSO and role‑based access control
  • AI evaluation, tracing, observability, safety testing and production monitoring
  • Running discovery workshops, mapping workflows or supporting users through adoption
  • You do not need every tool on this list. We are more interested in how you work and what reached production than a long list of frameworks.
Pay range and compensation package

$170k to $230k + super depending on experience level.

Equal Opportunity Statement

Galileo Search welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds. If you meet most of the requirements and can show strong evidence of production delivery, we encourage you to apply.

Eligibility & Travel

Applicants must have Australian working rights and be based in, or able to work regularly from, Sydney or Melbourne. Some opportunities may involve travel to customer sites. All conversations are confidential.
