Forward Deployed Engineer
Summary
Lead engineering teams building AI-powered solutions for enterprise transformation programs, working directly with customers to design and implement AI agents, analytical workflows, and enterprise applications.
Requirements
- Partner directly with enterprise customers, transformation leaders, PMOs, architects, functional leads, and system integrators.
- Develop a deep understanding of how large ERP and IT transformation programs are structured, governed, and executed.
- Participate in customer discovery, solution design, technical workshops, pilots, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Translate complex business and transformation problems into technical solutions.
- Work directly with customer teams to understand their data, systems, workflows, and operational constraints.
- Help customers deploy Axiamatic rapidly within their existing technology and operating environment.
- Act as a trusted technical partner to transformation leaders and enterprise stakeholders.
- Lead engineers in building AI-powered solutions for complex enterprise transformation problems.
- Design and implement AI agents, analytical workflows, data pipelines, integrations, and enterprise applications.
- Develop technical approaches for analyzing requirements, workshop transcripts, user stories, project plans, risks, dependencies, testing artifacts, and other transformation data.
- Design structured analytical workflows that enable AI agents to identify risks, gaps, dependencies, readiness indicators, and execution patterns.
- Work with LLMs, agentic architectures, retrieval systems, knowledge bases, knowledge graphs, and enterprise data.
- Establish approaches for evaluating the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of AI-generated insights.
- Build prototypes rapidly and iterate based on real-world customer feedback.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, observable, and production-ready.
- Identify recurring patterns across customer engagements.
- Separate one-off customer requirements from capabilities that should become part of the Axiamatic platform.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Research to convert successful customer solutions into scalable product capabilities.
- Establish reusable architectures, frameworks, components, and technical patterns.
- Influence the technical and product roadmap based on insights from customer deployments.
- Help build the engineering foundations for Axiamatic's transformation intelligence platform.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing engineers.
- Set technical direction and engineering standards across customer-facing initiatives.
- Balance speed of customer delivery with long-term engineering quality.
- Establish strong practices around code quality, testing, security, reliability, and observability.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design, and critical implementation decisions.
- Recruit and develop engineers who thrive in ambiguous, customer-facing environments.
- Create an engineering culture focused on ownership, rapid learning, and measurable customer outcomes.
- Work with customer technology teams to integrate Axiamatic with enterprise systems and data sources.
- Design solutions involving APIs, SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, document repositories, collaboration tools, and data platforms.
- Understand enterprise security, authentication, authorization, data governance, and deployment requirements.
- Help customers navigate technical constraints associated with large enterprise environments.
- Develop repeatable deployment patterns that reduce implementation time across customers.
- 7-9 years of software engineering experience, with3+ years in engineering leadership or engineering management.
- Experience building and deploying production software in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers or business stakeholders.
- Strong experience with backend systems, APIs, distributed systems, data platforms, or enterprise applications.
- Experience leading teams through ambiguous, technically complex problems.
- Strong ability to rapidly prototype and turn prototypes into production-quality systems.
- Experience withAI/ML, LLMs, agentic systems, RAG, knowledge bases, or AI-powered applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, APIs, data models, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working with enterprise data and integrating multiple systems.
- Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical architectures.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working directly with customers in discovery sessions, workshops, pilots, and POCs.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced startup or highly ambiguous environment.
- Strong product sense and an ability to distinguish between customer-specific solutions and scalable product capabilities.
- Experience withERP implementations, particularly SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Epicor.
- Experience working on large-scale digital transformation or IT transformation programs.
- Experience with enterprise consulting, system integrators, or technology transformation organizations.
- Experience building AI agents or LLM-based enterprise applications.
- Experience with knowledge graphs, graph databases, or relationship-based data models.
- Experience with enterprise workflow automation.
- Experience working with program-management, requirements-management, testing, change-management, or transformation platforms.
- Experience taking a solution from customer POC → production → scalable product capability.
- Experience working in a Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Field Engineering, or similar customer-facing engineering role.
