Forward Deployed Engineer

Summary

Builds AI-driven workflows for private-market asset servicers, bridging customer needs with technical delivery—from onboarding to production—while refining product roadmaps based on real-world deployments.

About the Role

We're a small, high-caliber founding team building an AI-powered platform that automates end-to-end private market operations for asset servicers and asset managers. Our platform handles everything from data capture and reconciliation to journal entries, master data updates, and reporting — all powered by intelligent, firm-specific workflows.

As our first Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll own technical delivery from the very first customer conversation through to production launch. You'll work directly with private-market operations teams, translate their workflows into production-grade AI deployments, and feed real-world insights back into the core product. This is a high-impact, deeply technical role at the intersection of customer success and product engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full technical delivery lifecycle — from discovery and scoping through to production deployment

  • Work directly with customer teams to map existing workflows and surface adoption barriers

  • Convert customer processes into AI-driven, agentic workflows on our platform

  • Build customer-tailored prototypes, iterate rapidly, and make informed scope decisions in the field

  • Bring deployment learnings back into product development planning and roadmap discussions

  • Identify recurring patterns across engagements and develop reusable components and standardized approaches

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 1–6 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or a forward-deployed / implementation engineering role

  • Proficiency in TypeScript and comfort working across a modern full-stack environment

  • Experience with backend frameworks (e.g. NestJS or similar), relational databases (e.g. Postgres), and ORMs (e.g. Prisma)

  • Ability to work autonomously, manage ambiguity, and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong customer-facing instincts — you enjoy translating business problems into technical solutions

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, LLM orchestration, or agentic systems (e.g. Mastra or similar)

  • Experience with workflow/event-driven systems (e.g. Inngest or similar)

  • Frontend skills with React, TanStack, and Tailwind

  • Background in or exposure to private markets, fund accounting, or financial services operations

  • Experience at a similarly fast-moving early-stage B2B SaaS or AI startup

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience

  • Early-stage equity opportunity

  • Visa sponsorship available

Location

This role is on-site in Berlin, Germany. You'll work closely with the founding team in person. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
