Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

This is a customer-facing engineering role at a pre-seed healthtech startup building staffing operations software for urgent care and emergency medicine groups. You'll work directly with clinical and operational teams to translate their needs into shipped software, sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success on a small, fast-moving team.

What You'll Do

• Build front-end and back-end features using TypeScript, React, Node, Deno, and SQL.

• Collaborate directly with customers to gather requirements and iterate on solutions in real time.

• Deploy and operate services on AWS and troubleshoot production issues as they arise.

• Travel frequently to customer sites for on-site engagements and deployments.

• Contribute to product design and rapid prototyping, moving ideas to working code quickly.

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with React for frontend development.

• Backend development experience with Node.js and/or Deno.

• Comfort writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.

• Experience deploying or operating services on AWS.

• Strong customer-facing communication skills — ability to work directly with clinical or operational stakeholders.

• A builder's mindset: you ship reliable software quickly and take ownership end-to-end.

• High emotional maturity and collaborative attitude; comfortable in a close-knit, in-person team environment.

• Open to frequent travel as part of the role.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary $80,000–$130,000 USD annually, with a total compensation target that includes equity, and coverage of food, housing, and transportation during travel. No visa sponsorship available.

Location

On-site in Miami, Florida. Candidates relocating from elsewhere in the US are welcome.
