Forward deployed engineer - PM+Dev

Job Description

We are looking for a technically strong and product-minded Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) – Product Manager + Developer who can bridge the gap between customers, product strategy, and engineering execution.

The ideal candidate will understand customer problems, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and independently build, deploy, and iterate on those solutions. This role combines product ownership, hands-on software development, and customer-facing problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand their workflows, challenges, and business requirements.

• Translate customer needs into product features, technical specifications, and actionable development tasks.

• Own product requirements, prioritization, roadmaps, and feature delivery.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions.

• Build integrations, APIs, automation workflows, and customer-specific implementations.

• Collaborate with engineering, design, and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Gather feedback, analyze product usage, and continuously improve implementations.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure successful deployment and adoption.

• Balance short-term customer requirements with long-term product scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in software development, product engineering, or technical product management.

• Strong programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar languages.

• Experience building REST APIs, backend services, and integrating third-party systems.

• Understanding of databases, cloud infrastructure, and deployment workflows.

• Experience with product management practices, including PRDs, user stories, prioritization, and sprint planning.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.

• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Good to Have

• Experience with AI/ML integrations, LLMs, and automation tools.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with React, Node.js, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.

• Experience in a startup, SaaS, or customer-facing engineering environment.

• Exposure to tools such as Jira, Linear, GitHub, and Postman.
