Forward Deployed Engineer

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead customer implementations of AI-powered software from initial scoping through launch, working directly with client stakeholders and writing code when needed. Blend hands-on engineering with relationship management, and pass practical lessons back to the product engineering group.

What you'll do

- Deploy AI systems into production for customers, owning each engagement from scoping to go-live.

- Act as the main contact for senior client stakeholders and build lasting, trusted relationships.

- Design, build and refine AI agents, including prompt engineering, model integration and rapid prototyping with AI-assisted coding tools.

- Scope and develop new features that help customers scale their usage.

- Work alongside client technical teams to connect the product to their existing systems through APIs.

- Partner with internal platform engineers so releases land smoothly, and relay useful product insights.

- Document best practices in internal playbooks so the deployment function can grow.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Experience shipping production code in a startup, as a founder or early engineer, or at a large fast-moving technology company.

- A degree in a STEM field.

- Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms and system design.

- Proficiency in Python.

- Working knowledge of large language models, prompting techniques and AI agent design.

- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical topics to customers.

- Willingness to work from the office five days a week.

- Demonstrated ownership of projects from start to finish in a technical, customer-facing role.

- Degree from a highly ranked university for the program, which can offset gaps in other areas.

- Base salary: USD 165,000 to 250,000 per year
