As a Foster Care Recruiter & Trainer, you’ll play a vital role in building and empowering the families who make that possible. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to recruit, train, and support foster families while helping ensure children are placed in homes where they can thrive.


Candidates who reside within or near Transylvania, Henderson, Jackson, Haywood, Macon, or Swain counties. This preference is based on the role's travel requirements, community engagement responsibilities, and the need to effectively serve the region.


What You’ll Do

  • Recruit & Build Relationships
    • Lead foster parent recruitment efforts in your region
    • Develop partnerships with DSS offices, mental health providers, and community organizations
    • Represent Children’s Hope Alliance at community events and outreach opportunities
  • Train & Prepare Foster Families
    • Facilitate engaging pre-service training using the Teaching-Family Model
    • Guide families through licensing requirements with confidence and clarity
    • Provide ongoing education, including CPR/First Aid, MAR, and model-based training
  • Support the Licensing Process
    • Walk families through each step of becoming licensed
    • Conduct in-home visits and assess readiness for fostering
    • Ensure compliance with all state and agency licensing regulations
    • Collect and review documentation for submission
  • Ensure Strong Placements
    • Evaluate the needs of youth and match them with appropriate foster homes
    • Participate in staffing and clinical discussions with team members
    • Help ensure every placement supports long-term success
  • Engage & Support Foster Families
    • Maintain consistent communication with prospective and licensed families
    • Facilitate monthly training sessions and support groups
    • Provide guidance and encouragement throughout their fostering journey
