Summary
Founding AI engineer at early-stage startup Skysirv building Lucy, an AI travel companion for trip planning, flight/price monitoring, and acting on bookings. Day-to-day: LLM orchestration, agentic tool-calling, RAG/memory, realtime voice, and AI observability using OpenAI APIs, TypeScript/Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis. Equity-only compensation (1–3%).

Skysirv is building an AI-native travel platform centered around Lucy, your AI Travel Companion.
Lucy is evolving beyond a traditional travel chatbot into a persistent, cross-device AI companion that helps travelers plan trips, understand realtime travel conditions, monitor flights and prices, manage itineraries, interact with booking systems, and eventually take meaningful actions on their behalf.
We're looking for a Founding AI Engineer to work directly with the founder and take a major role in continuing Lucy's development.
What You'll Work On:
You'll help design and build the intelligence layer behind Lucy, including:

LLM orchestration, prompting, context management, and structured outputs

Agentic workflows and AI tool/function calling.

Persistent conversations and cross-device continuity.

Long-term memory and traveler personalization.

Realtime conversational voice.

Travel-data grounding using flight, airport, weather, disruption, pricing, and booking data.

AI-powered flight and trip planning workflows.

Safe execution and confirmation of traveler actions.

Proactive travel intelligence and alerts.

AI evaluation, reliability, latency, and observability.
Lucy sits on top of Skysirv's growing travel ecosystem, including live flight search and booking, route monitoring, saved flights, trips, realtime aviation intelligence, airport disruptions, weather, and travel alerts.
Our platform integrates providers including Duffel, Cirium, FAA data, weather services, and additional travel partners.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for an applied AI engineer with experience in areas such as:

LLM application development

OpenAI or comparable frontier-model APIs

Tool/function calling and AI agents RAG, context engineering, and memory systems

Realtime AI and voice TypeScript / Node.js PostgreSQL, Redis, APIs, and asynchronous systems

Production AI evaluation and observability

Experience building real AI products matters more to us than checking every box.
