Founding AI/ML Engineer

"AI/ML" at Remy means more than prompting models or tuning evals. You'll shape the intelligence layer of a product at the intersection of generative AI, product design, and collaborative software.

• Own the AI stack end-to-end. Choose the right models, abstractions, and systems to take AI features from prototype to production.

• Build model-powered product experiences. Ship AI workflows that help teams explore, refine, and converge on better product ideas and designs.

• Prototype quickly and experiment boldly. Turn ambiguous ideas into working systems, then improve them with data, evals, and user feedback.

• Collaborate across product, design, and engineering. Wire AI capabilities into polished product surfaces and reliable backend systems.

• Push the frontier. Explore generative AI, multimodal systems, personalization, retrieval, and agentic workflows.

About you

• 5+ years of software engineering / ML engineering experience, or Senior/Staff Engineer-level experience, with at least 2 years building generative AI or ML products.

• Strong TypeScript skills: this is where our agent lives at Remy. Experience with Python, and frameworks like PyTorch, MLX, or TensorFlow—is a plus.

• Strong product and engineering instincts. You can connect AI capabilities to real user value, not just model benchmarks.

• Comfort with the full AI lifecycle. You can move from data wrangling and model experimentation to production deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

• A track record of shipping 0→1 products in fast-moving environments where the problem space is still being defined.

• Clear, precise communicator. You can articulate tradeoffs, write clear RFCs, and disagree constructively.

• A genuine eye for design. You care about the quality, taste, and usefulness of AI-generated outputs, especially in visual and product design contexts.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with retrieval, indexing, personalization, NLP, or multimodal systems.

• Experience building evals, feedback loops, or model quality systems for production AI products.

• Experience working on agent UIs, streaming outputs, or AI-native product surfaces.

• Early-stage startup experience and a love for wearing multiple hats.

• A track record of mentoring or leading other engineers.

• Graduate work in AI, ML, or a related field.

• Experience shipping products to millions of users or customers.
