Founding Backend Software Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript) - Creator Platform

Compensation: $15k – $50k

Xive is a creator-first social platform focused on livestreaming, short-form video, communities, messaging, and creator monetization. We're building something different than today's social platforms by putting creators and communities first. We are currently looking for a Founding Backend Software Engineer to work directly alongside our CTO and help scale Xive as we continue to grow. This is not just another freelance project. We're looking for someone who enjoys startups, solving difficult engineering problems, and building products used by thousands of people. What you'll be working on Improve backend performance and scalability Build and optimize REST APIs Real-time WebSocket systems Livestream infrastructure Database optimization Creator monetization systems Subscription and gifted subscription features Notification systems Security improvements Backend architecture Performance optimization Bug fixing Feature development Technologies Node.js TypeScript PostgreSQL Next.js React WebSockets Redis (preferred) Docker AWS (preferred) RTMP / HLS / WebRTC experience is a huge plus Tencent Cloud experience is a plus What we're looking for Strong backend engineering experience Comfortable working on a growing startup Excellent communication Experience building scalable applications Ability to collaborate with another senior engineer Someone who takes ownership and enjoys solving difficult problems
