Founding Data Engineer

In this Founding Data Engineer role, you will establish scalable data foundations to support product and growth in a data-driven automotive marketplace. You will partner with cross-functional teams to shape data strategy and surface usable insights across marketing, CRM, and dealership data. Expect to turn diverse data sources into structured, reliable pipelines that enable better decision-making and commercial impact. This is a hands-on, ownership-led position with significant influence on tooling and architecture from day one.

• 4-day working week (Mon–Thu)
• hybrid work with Wednesdays from home
• office move to Manchester city centre
• salary up to 90,000 + bonus / equity

• Assess data quality, structure and flow across sources
• Build scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Model and transform data into clean, usable layers
• Define architecture and tooling for data platforms
• Integrate APIs, CRM and SaaS tools
• Own how data is surfaced across the business

• Strong Python and SQL
• MySQL experience
• API and SaaS integrations
• Cloud experience (Google Cloud preferred, AWS also relevant)
• Startup mindset with ownership and pace
• Experience in marketing-led or commercially driven environments with understanding of sales funnel and customer journey
