Build and scale an AI-powered automation platform for freight logistics, coding full-stack apps in Node.js/React/Python while shaping product and engineering from prototype to production.
About the Role
This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage AI startup building purpose-built automation for the sea and air freight industry. You'll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success — working directly with customers, shaping strategy, and writing the code that takes the product from demo to production scale.
What You'll Do
Lead customer conversations, surface insights, and translate them into concrete product features and technical direction.
Design and build full-stack applications, pushing the AI capabilities of the platform forward.
Drive the transition from prototype and demo mode to scalable, production-ready systems.
Shape the product roadmap, engineering culture, and broader company direction from the ground up.
What We're Looking For
2+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
Full-stack development skills: Node.js, TypeScript, and React on the frontend; Python on the backend.
Hands-on experience with LLM design patterns, vector stores, and model fine-tuning.
Proven ability to design, build, and deploy scalable products from MVP through to production.
Comfort leading customer conversations and turning feedback into well-defined product requirements.
Experience in startup or early-stage environments where ownership and initiative matter.
Familiarity with vector databases or semantic search implementations is a plus.
Location
Hybrid — primary office in Berlin, Germany. Visa sponsorship is available.
