Founding Engineer
Summary
Build and own the core agentic integration platform for enterprises using TypeScript, React, Node.js, LLMs, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
About the Role
A fast-growing, seed-stage startup building an agentic integration platform for enterprise customers is hiring its first engineering hire. This is a rare opportunity to own core systems end-to-end, set the engineering patterns that every future team member will build on, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founding team to ship production-ready software.
The platform is live, has paying enterprise customers, and is growing quickly. You won't be building in a vacuum — you'll be shipping to production constantly and seeing real impact on real users from day one.
What You'll Do
Own core systems end-to-end: agent platform, cloud infrastructure, and the integrations runtime.
Set the engineering patterns, standards, and architecture decisions that every future hire will build upon.
Work directly with the founders — your opinions and technical leadership are genuinely needed, not just your code.
Ship reliable, observable, production-grade systems continuously.
Drive end-to-end feature development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure with measurable customer impact.
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
3+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
Proven track record of building something from 0 to 1 — in an early-stage startup or a serious side project.
Proficiency in TypeScript and React for frontend development.
Proficiency in Node.js for backend development.
Hands-on experience integrating or building workflows around large language models (LLMs) and agent-based platforms.
Experience with AWS for cloud infrastructure.
Experience with PostgreSQL for data storage and database design.
Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and tracing in production systems.
Experience building reliable retry and queuing patterns in distributed systems.
Nice-to-haves:
Prior experience in fast-paced startup environments.
Experience setting engineering patterns and standards for growing teams.
Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration at scale.
