Own Osmin's technical core and build the data and AI foundation for our at-home cellular health platform, on a CTO track.

About Osmin Health starts at the cellular level, yet most people have little visibility into how their everyday choices affect their cellular health. We can track sleep, activity, workouts, nutrition, and recovery, but the cellular response behind those metrics remains largely invisible outside the laboratory.
Osmin Health is a Vancouver-based health technology company building an at-home cellular health testing and tracking platform. Our vision is to make cellular wellness measurable, understandable, and actionable by creating a continuous feedback loop between how people live and how their cellular health responds. Through repeated at-home testing and personalized insights, we aim to help people understand what is working for their bodies and make better-informed decisions over time.
We are tackling a difficult problem at the intersection of science, software, data, and trust. Our scientific and product-development programs are advancing, and we are preparing for our first consumer beta. We are looking for a founding engineer who wants to take meaningful ownership of this mission and build Osmin's technical foundation.
The role You will join Osmin as our first permanent engineering leader, working directly with the CEO and CSO. This is a deeply hands-on position. You will build and own Osmin's product and technical platform, take it through consumer beta and commercial launch, and establish the systems required to support secure longitudinal health data and personalized insights.
Approximately 80% of the role is hands-on building and technical ownership. The remaining 20% is architecture, planning, external-partner management, and company-level technical decisions. The position is on a CTO track, but it is not a CTO appointment at the time of hire. Progression is based on demonstrated product execution, technical judgment, leadership, recruiting ability, and the needs of the company as Osmin grows.
What you will own Full technical ownership of Osmin's product and platform Readiness of the product for consumer beta and commercial launch A secure, privacy-conscious, and scalable technical foundation Systems that support longitudinal biomarker, wearable, lifestyle, and nutrition data The models and first generation of reliable, personalized user insights Engineering standards for testing, releases, monitoring, documentation, and reliability Evaluation and integration of specialized external technologies and technical partners Management of external engineers, contractors, and vendors where appropriate Collaboration with the scientific team on research, validation, and partner studies Pragmatic decisions about what Osmin should build, buy, integrate, or defer Definition and recruiting of the company's future engineering and data hires What success looks like In your first two to three months, you will take ownership of Osmin's technical platform, infrastructure, and release process, establish practical standards for testing, security, privacy, deployment, and documentation, and deliver Osmin's first consumer beta.
Within six to eight months, you will deliver a dependable platform for commercial launch, establish the foundation for secure longitudinal health data, support the launch of Osmin's first personalized insights, build dependable interfaces with specialized external partners, and help determine when and whom Osmin should hire next.
What we are looking for You are a senior, product-minded engineer who has personally owned meaningful production systems. You can move between implementation, architecture, product decisions, data, and operations. You do not need to be the deepest specialist in every area, but you must be capable of owning the complete system and recognizing when specialized expertise is required.
Strong candidates will bring End-to-end ownership of a production software product or platform Strong full-stack engineering across mobile, backend, and cloud infrastructure Solid data-modeling and systems-architecture fundamentals Applied machine learning, including building models on longitudinal or time-series data, and sound judgment about evaluation, uncertainty, and production monitoring Practical security, privacy, and reliability judgment Experience building under uncertainty in an early-stage or zero-to-one environment The ability to evaluate and manage contractors, vendors, and external technical components Strong written communication and technical-documentation habits The desire to remain hands-on while developing into a technical and organizational leader We care more about demonstrated ownership and judgment than a specific number of years of experience.
Particularly relevant experience (advantageous, but not required) Digital health, health technology, biotechnology, diagnostics, wellness, or life sciences Consumer products involving sensitive personal data Products that connect software with sensors, hardware, or real-world measurements Longitudinal health, wearable, behavioral, or nutrition data Mobile product development Statistical analysis or experimental design Hiring or mentoring engineers How we work Osmin is an early-stage company, and priorities will evolve as we learn from users, beta results, scientific development, and commercial partners. You should be comfortable with high autonomy and broad accountability, a lean team with limited support infrastructure, working directly with the CEO and CSO, making decisions with incomplete information, moving quickly while protecting user trust, regular in-person collaboration in Vancouver, and using AI-assisted development to increase execution speed.
In return, you will have direct access to company strategy, significant influence over the product and technical direction, and meaningful long-term ownership in the company you are helping build.
Compensation and ownership The expected base-salary range is CA$100,000 to CA$115,000, based on experience and the agreed balance between cash compensation and equity.
The expected initial employee stock-option grant is approximately 2.0% to 3.0% of Osmin's fully diluted equity at the time of grant, subject to the company's option plan and required approvals. This is intentionally an ownership-weighted opportunity, associated with the Founding Engineer role.
A future appointment as CTO is not automatic. It would be assessed separately based on demonstrated performance, expanded leadership responsibilities, company stage, and organizational needs, and may include an additional equity grant.
Benefits are being established and will be discussed transparently during the hiring process.
