Founding Engineer

This is a forward-deployed founding engineer role. You'll own the customer relationship end to end, sit inside the workflows of the evaluators and enterprises we work with, and build the systems that automate their work. You'll work directly with me and with customers, turn what you learn into product, and make the technical decisions that shape how Docura is built.

Who you'll work with

You'll work directly with me, the founder. Before Docura I worked at Athelas (now Commure), a multi-billion dollar healthcare company, where I built the first integrations in the company's history, working with everyone from small private practices to Tenet Healthcare, one of the largest health systems in the country.

When I was starting out, I drove around dropping donuts off at clinics just to get someone to talk to me. That's how I met the doctor who taught me about the med-legal space, and how we landed our first customers and started growing the business.

We're looking for people who work the same way: hustle, an itch to figure things out, a can-do mentality, and the drive to always do more.

What you'll own

• The customer relationship. You'll be forward-deployed, working face-to-face with customers, understanding how they actually work, and turning that into product.
• Building 0 to 1. New products and workflows, from a blank page into production.
• Reliable agent orchestration. Designing agent systems that are accurate and dependable enough to run real cases in a high-stakes, regulated domain.
• Ingesting large volumes of documents. Making sense of thousands of pages of messy, unstructured medical records and claim files at scale.
• Tying together audio and document workflows. Bringing voice applications and document applications into a single system that does real work.
• Working inside large enterprises. Building and deploying into the systems of record of large, complex organizations.

What we're looking for

Must-haves

• A strong full-stack engineer who thrives on ambiguous, hard problems
• Strong technical judgment about architecture and product tradeoffs
• Ships fast without sacrificing the reliability our customers depend on
• Genuinely comfortable working directly with customers and owning the relationship
• Already has US work authorization (we can't sponsor visas)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with agent orchestration, LLM applications, or large-scale document/data pipelines
• Experience with voice or audio applications
• Experience selling into or deploying inside large enterprises
• Former founder or early-stage startup experience
