Summary

Founding full-stack engineer at an early-stage construction-tech startup in San Francisco building AI tools that interpret blueprints. You'll build polished React/TypeScript interfaces and Python backend systems to make computer vision insights useful for real construction workflows, working on-site five days a week.

About the Role

Join an early-stage construction technology team building AI-powered tools that help people interpret blueprints and make construction workflows more efficient. As the Founding Engineer, you will shape the initial product experiences, working across the stack to make computer vision insights useful and accessible to customers.

What You'll Do

  • Build intuitive, polished interfaces that present computer vision model outputs and make complex data easy to understand.

  • Work with geometric data and streaming pipelines while designing interactions for real construction workflows.

  • Develop prototypes quickly, then refine them in response to direct user feedback and real-world usage.

  • Contribute across the stack, from React interfaces to Python backend systems, to move product development forward.

What We're Looking For

  • Open to candidates across experience levels, including early-career engineers and those with 10+ years of experience; demonstrated ability to take a product from 0 to 1 is essential.

  • Strong React and TypeScript skills, with the ability to contribute across the full stack.

  • Proficiency in Python and comfort solving open-ended, math-oriented problems.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals or an exceptional project portfolio demonstrating equivalent depth.

  • Experience building customer-facing products and improving them through user feedback.

  • Founder, founding engineer, or early-stage startup experience is helpful, as is familiarity with construction, real estate, PDF workflows, or Tailwind CSS.

  • Clear, empathetic communication and genuine interest in improving housing affordability.

  • US citizenship is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Location
