Founding Engineer - Platform

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable platform services and backend APIs using Python, FastAPI, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain platform interfaces, dashboards, and internal tools using Next.js .
• Develop reliable, secure, and high-performance systems designed for production workloads.
• Implement observability solutions covering logs, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting, and service health monitoring.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Improve system reliability, availability, latency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Build automation tools and services to streamline deployment, monitoring, debugging, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve platform capabilities.
• Establish engineering best practices for API design, testing, code quality, deployment, and production readiness.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, release processes, incident response, and continuous platform improvement.

Requirements:

• Strong programming experience in Python and backend development.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI for building REST APIs and backend services.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript for server-side development.
• Experience building web applications or internal engineering tools using Next.js .
• Practical experience operating and supporting production-grade systems.
• Strong understanding of observability concepts, including logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, distributed systems fundamentals, database design, and service integrations.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and deployment workflows.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and deployment automation.
• Experience with incident management, SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, secrets management, and production security.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, platform tooling, or developer productivity solutions.
