Founding Front-End Software Engineer (part-time, remote)

We’re an early-stage consumer startup building an immersive, interactive web experience: a 3D world that responds to each person, driven by a computational engine. We’re pre-seed and founder-led, and we’re putting together a small founding team. We’re looking for the engineer who builds the application itself.
About the role
You’ll lead the build of our web app and bring together the work of a small front-end team: a 3D artist and a creative interaction developer. They make it beautiful and responsive. You make it a real product people sign into and come back to.
What you’ll do
Decide how the app is organized, then build it: sign-in, saved user data and the connection to our back end Bring the 3D assets and interactive work into one working product Coordinate the front-end team so the visuals and the app come together on schedule Help get our first version in front of users and investors, then shape the product from there
What we’re looking for
You’ve built and shipped a web application people actually use, with sign-in, saved data and a back end behind it Strong in React or a similar framework, with TypeScript Experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber or WebGL is a strong plus. You don’t need to create the 3D yourself You’ve led or coordinated other developers or designers You treat privacy and security as part of the job. The product works with people’s personal information You’re comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early startup
The arrangement (please read before applying)
This is a part-time, remote role, about 10-15 hours a week to start, with equity plus deferred pay. Your hours are tracked from day one at an agreed rate and paid out once we close funding. We’re actively raising, but funding isn’t secured yet, so the deferred pay isn’t guaranteed. For the right person, there’s a path to a full-time, salaried founding role once we’re funded.
