Founding Full-Stack Engineer

Compensation: $45k – $60k • 0.5% – 1.0%

About Arusto: Arusto is transforming Learning & Development by automating the creation of tailored learning materials from unstructured content repositories. We work with organizations including a leading private university and a global corporate learning publisher, and we are building what we believe is the first autonomous knowledge-asset creation engine for L&D.

The Role: We’re hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to join our small, high-ownership, fully remote team. You’ll work across product, infrastructure, and AI-powered workflows to help build and scale a category-defining SaaS platform.

This role is for someone who likes moving fast, taking responsibility, and building real product in a startup environment. You should be comfortable owning features end-to-end, from frontend implementation to backend systems and production deployment.

What You’ll Work On:

• Build and ship product features across the frontend and backend
• Develop scalable workflows for content generation, transformation, and delivery
• Integrate AI capabilities into core product experiences, including LLM-powered workflows and agent-like systems
• Design and maintain APIs, services, and data pipelines
• Improve system reliability, performance, and developer velocity
• Work closely with the founding team on product direction and technical decisions

• Frontend: React, Next.js, TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui
• Backend: Python, Node.js
• Infrastructure: AWS, GCP
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Pinecone
• AI / LLM Tools: Agentic Framworks with Claude/OpenAI

What We’re Looking :For

• Strong experience as a full-stack engineer building and shipping production software
• Strong frontend skills with React and Next.js
• Strong backend skills in Python and/or Node.js
• Experience designing scalable systems and owning features end-to-end
• Comfortable working independently in a startup environment with limited structure
• Strong product instinct and bias toward execution
• Clear communicator who can work well in a small remote team

Nice to Have:

• Experience integrating LLMs into production products
• Experience building AI workflows, agents, or tool-using systems
• Experience with retrieval systems, embeddings, vector databases, or RAG pipelines
• Experience evaluating model quality, latency, and cost tradeoffs in production
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, and agent reliability issues
• Experience deploying and maintaining AI-backed systems on AWS
