Founding Marketing Lead

About the Role

This is a founding marketing role at a Y Combinator–backed consumer wearable startup building the first device designed to read and analyze real-time emotional states. As the first marketing hire, you'll own the entire marketing function — brand, social, communications, and launch — and grow into leading the marketing org as the company scales toward consumer launch.

What You'll Do

  • Own marketing end-to-end as the company's first and founding marketing hire.

  • Build and scale brand identity and social presence ahead of consumer launch.

  • Lead go-to-market strategy and communications for the wearable device.

  • Develop and manage influencer, creator, and community partnerships at scale.

  • Design and grow the marketing organization as the team expands.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–3+ years of marketing experience with a proven track record in consumer hardware wearables.

  • End-to-end ownership of brand, social, communications, and product launch — not just one slice.

  • Deep expertise in social media and community management for consumer brands.

  • Demonstrated experience building influencer and creator partnerships at scale.

  • Hands-on, scrappy operator who can execute without a large team or budget.

  • Experience leading or scaling a marketing org, including hiring and people leadership.

  • Strong consumer taste and instinct — background in consumer goods or consumer social preferred; B2B-only backgrounds are not a fit.

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work on-site in San Francisco.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary $80,000–$125,000 USD annually, plus meaningful early-stage equity. Visa sponsorship is not available; H-1B transfers are accepted.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
