Founding Product Engineer
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a Y Combinator–backed AI marketing technology startup as their first engineering hire. The company builds the marketing suite for the agentic web — helping brands monitor, understand, and improve how AI models like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude perceive and recommend them. Already trusted by some of the largest brands in Europe, the company is in a fast-growing category at the intersection of AI and marketing (often called GEO — Generative Engine Optimization).
As a Founding Product Engineer, you'll have true founding scope: owning product features end to end, working side-by-side with both founders and customers, and shipping work that directly drives customer value. This role spans product thinking, frontend, backend, LLM pipelines, and data — no narrow specialist lane here.
What You'll Do
Own full product features from ambiguous problem statement all the way to a live, improving product
Work directly with founders and customers to figure out what to build and why
Talk to customers regularly, translate conversations into product improvements, and close the feedback loop
Build and iterate across the full stack: frontend UX, backend systems, LLM pipelines, and data infrastructure
Design simple, intuitive UX for complex agentic workflows
Contribute to how the team works, not just what it ships
What We're Looking For
Required:
Eligible to work in Germany, or able to obtain visa sponsorship (sponsorship is available)
Hands-on experience designing and implementing LLM pipelines and agentic workflows inside a real product
Proven ability to ship production SaaS features and own full-stack product work from idea to live
Strong communication skills — comfortable engaging directly with customers and turning feedback into product decisions
Experience with TypeScript and React
Has shipped a product (or major feature) from 0 to 1 before
Willingness to work on-site in Munich — no fully remote option
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Vite, Supabase, Vercel, and/or ClickHouse
Experience in martech, SEO tooling, analytics platforms, or AI-native B2B SaaS
1–8 years of total professional engineering experience
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: €85,000 – €120,000 per year
Equity: VSOP (virtual stock options), meaningful founding-employee range
Start date: as soon as possible
Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates
Location
On-site in Munich, Germany. Relocation is welcome; the team is growing its Munich hub. This is not a remote role.
