Founding Senior Backend Engineers

Role Summary

This role owns the design, development, and evolution of backend services, APIs, data platforms, and AI-powered systems. Working directly with founders, this role turns ambitious ideas into scalable products, drives key architectural decisions, and establishes the technical foundations for long-term growth.

As one of the earliest engineering hires, this role will have significant influence over product direction, engineering culture, and the future of the platform.

What you’ll own

• Build and scale backend services, APIs, data systems, and AI-powered capabilities.
• Own projects end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to deployment and iteration.
• Design and develop core platform capabilities, including wallet and ledger systems, pricing infrastructure, and data pipelines.
• Work directly with founders to turn ideas into production-ready products.
• Build reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support long-term growth.
• Maintain high engineering standards through clean code, testing, and thoughtful technical decisions.
• Drive architectural improvements and help shape the company's technical foundation and engineering culture.

Who we’re looking for

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems, APIs, or cloud-based applications in high‑growth startups or technology companies.
• Strong proficiency in backend development, distributed systems, databases, and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and secure systems in production environments.
• Familiarity with AI tools, LLMs, and modern AI development workflows.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with speed of execution in fast‑moving environments.
• Strong ownership mindset with a passion for building products, solving customer problems, and driving business impact.
