Founding Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Our long-term vision is to create a digital ecosystem that connects Muslims worldwide, frees the Ummah from Riba and leads to the start of a Digital Islamic Golden Age. ## The Role We are looking for a **Founding Senior Cybersecurity Engineer** to take ownership of cybersecurity across the entire Ihsan ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will work directly with our founding team to design, implement, and maintain security systems protecting our users, their funds, and their communications. ## Key Responsibilities - **Application Security:** Secure backend APIs, authentication systems, databases, and mobile applications. - **Financial Security:** Protect digital wallets, stablecoin transactions, payment infrastructure, and cryptographic key management. - **Cloud & Infrastructure Security:** Secure servers, cloud environments, networks, and production infrastructure. - **Messaging Security:** Protect end-to-end encrypted communications, user privacy, and sensitive data. - **Threat Detection:** Identify vulnerabilities, conduct security testing, and implement monitoring and incident response systems. - **Secure Development:** Review code, implement security controls, and integrate automated security testing into development workflows. ## Why Join Ihsan? - Join the founding team of an ambitious global technology platform. - Take ownership of cybersecurity across multiple products from day one. - Work directly with the founders and senior engineers. - Solve challenging security problems involving FinTech, blockchain, and encrypted communications. - Help build technology designed to serve the global Muslim Ummah.

## Required Experience We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on cybersecurity engineer with proven experience in financial technology. **Requirements:** - Senior-level experience in cybersecurity engineering. - **Previous cybersecurity experience in FinTech, banking, payment processing, neobanking, or cryptocurrency platforms.** - Proven experience securing production applications and financial infrastructure. - Strong programming and scripting skills, with the ability to implement security solutions independently. - Experience with application security, API security, authentication, and encryption. - Experience securing cloud infrastructure, databases, and backend systems. - Practical experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and incident response. - Strong understanding of modern cyber threats and defensive security architecture. - Excellent English communication skills. - Willingness to work full-time, on-site in Doha, Qatar. ## Technical Skills - **Application Security:** OWASP, API security, OAuth 2.0, secure coding, SAST/DAST. - **Infrastructure:** AWS/GCP/Azure, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, IAM, CI/CD security. - **Financial Security:** Payment security, digital wallets, private key management, blockchain security. - **Programming:** Go, TypeScript, Python, SQL, or similar languages. - **Security Operations:** Penetration testing, vulnerability management, threat detection, incident response. ## Strong Advantages - Experience at a neobank, payment processor, crypto exchange, or digital wallet provider. - Experience with EVM, smart contracts, HSMs, or MPC. - Experience securing end-to-end encrypted messaging platforms. - Certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, CISSP, or GIAC. - Previous experience working in the GCC. **Important:** This is a hands-on engineering position, not a compliance, auditing, or security management role. We are looking for someone who can personally build and implement security solutions.
