Y Combinator Founding Software Engineer
Summary
Designs and builds software for an autonomous factory’s agent-based production, logistics, and quality control systems, spanning full-stack development and robotic/AI integration.
Almond is building America’s robot factory.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, test, and implement key software components for our factory operations centering around agents and automated inventory, production, logistics, and QA quality control. This role is ideal for an engineer excited about working across the full product lifecycle from whiteboard sketches and prototypes to manufacturing and production.
You will contribute towards:
- Building an autonomous factory
- Building an agentic production system
- Building software to ensure product quality
At minimum, you should:
- Have strong architectural design
- Be comfortable working across the stack and/or quickly learning relevant skills (frontend / backend / robotic control / AI)
- Gave strong conviction in the idea that general purpose robots (humanoids + AI) are inevitable and will soon take over the physical world
An ideal candidate has experience in at least one of:
- Building with agents
- Strong System Design principles
We are taking on a problem that requires extreme ownership and urgency. If you’re looking for a 9-5 this role is not for you.
