Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team!

Position: Melt Shop General Labor - 1st shift (start time depends on dept, anywhere from 3am to 5am)

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow direction from Production Supervisor and Team Lead based on daily operation schedule
• Comfortable working around foundry sand and extreme temps (hot or cold)
• General Labor through the foundry includes, making mold, core and cleaning finished castings
• Familiarity with using hand tools and remote cranes
• Willing to do all duties in the dept. as needed
• Collaborate with other departments and maintenance teams to ensure production conformity
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least 2 years prior heavy manufacturing experience required
• Must be at least 18 years of age, HS degree /GED or equivalent preferred
• Demonstrated competency in loading, unloading, and stacking materials
• Ability to work in and around extreme heat required
• Ability to work independently

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials.
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
• Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs consistently and perform other heavy manual work in a hot and dirty environment

Job Type: Full Time. Hourly, non-exempt.
