About the Role:

We are looking for an analytical and business-oriented FP&A Analyst, Technology to join our Finance team. This role will partner closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Technology leadership team, providing financial insights and decision support across Technology investments, capital expenditures, development costs, maintenance expenses, and capitalization activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, performance analysis, and strategic decision-making while collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Analyze and understand actual financial performance across the Technology function.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting processes.

  • Develop and maintain financial models, planning tools, and reporting solutions.

  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecasts, and prior-year performance.

  • Prepare management reports and presentations for the CTO, VP of FP&A, and senior leadership.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to the CTO and Technology leadership team.

  • Provide timely and relevant financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and challenge existing spending assumptions.

  • Support business cases, investment appraisals, ROI analysis, and technology initiatives.

  • Evaluate and optimize Technology spending between development and maintenance activities.

Financial Performance & Reporting

  • Partner with Accounting to manage the monthly close process and ensure accurate reporting.

  • Monitor Technology costs, capital expenditures, and capitalization levels.

  • Analyze trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and business drivers.

  • Deliver actionable insights that improve financial and operational performance.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Review existing Technology processes and recommend efficiency improvements.

  • Ensure financial processes and controls remain SOX compliant.

  • Support strategic initiatives led by the VP FP&A and CFO.

  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of planning, reporting, and analysis capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent) is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in FP&A, Business Control, Business Analysis, or a similar finance role.

  • Up to 5 years of overall finance experience gained within multinational environments, ideally in Blue Chip, FMCG, Technology, or Big 4 organizations.

  • Previous accounting experience would be an asset.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and the relationship between the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

  • Experience working with large datasets and translating complex information into actionable insights.

  • Knowledge of Hyperion, SmartView, and Essbase is advantageous.

  • Experience with VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX is a plus.
