Fraud and Abuse Operations Analyst
You respond to fraud and abuse events, investigate claims, triage incidents, perform threat modeling, monitor external fraud trends and adversary techniques, translate investigations into detection signals and labeled datasets, analyze data for anomalies and fraudulent patterns, and improve operational processes and controls.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve fraud and abuse events
- Investigate fraud and abuse claims
- Perform threat modeling of abuse surfaces
- Survey external fraud trends and emerging threat vectors
- Triage and manage fraud and abuse incidents
- Partner with product teams to inform fraud mitigation solutions
- Translate investigations into detection signals, rules, and labeled datasets
- Analyze logs and datasets for anomalies and fraudulent patterns
- Improve operational processes and controls
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in fraud or abuse operations, trust and safety, or incident response
- Experience triaging fraud incidents
- Experience managing escalations and stakeholder trade-offs
- Knowledge of fraud typologies
- Familiarity with fraud tactics, techniques, procedures, and mitigation strategies
- Dark and grey-web navigation and investigation experience
- Experience translating investigations into detection signals, rules, and labeled datasets
- Experience developing threat models
- Proficiency with SQL
- Data analysis skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
