Fraud Data Analyst

Get to Know our Team:

The Fraud Operations team at Agoda works to protect our customers and business by minimizing fraud losses and payment disputes while keeping disruption to genuine customers as low as possible. With millions of hotels and homes across 200+ countries and territories, plus flights and activities, our team manages fraud risk in a fast-moving, complex global environment.

You will be part of the Fraud Data Analyst team within Fraud Operations, working closely with Fraud Management, senior fraud agents, and key stakeholders. The team combines fraud expertise, investigation experience, data analysis, and technology to identify suspicious patterns, improve controls, and respond quickly to emerging risks.

You will join a team that understands how fraud happens across real customer journeys and operational workflows. Your analysis will help detect new risks, reduce losses, improve processes, and support better fraud decisions at scale.

In this Role, you’ll get to:

  • Work closely with Fraud Management, senior fraud agents, and key stakeholders to support investigations, incidents, control reviews, and smarter analytical approaches, including new data features and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Analyze large-scale fraud, payment dispute, and booking data to uncover suspicious patterns, emerging risks, and opportunities to improve fraud prevention.
  • Turn fraud signals, investigation findings, and operational insights into practical recommendations that reduce losses, improve controls, and protect genuine customers from unnecessary disruption.
  • Build and improve monitoring and alerts that help the team track fraud performance and respond faster to changing fraud behavior.
  • Identify opportunities to automate operational checks, recurring analysis, and reporting workflows to improve speed, consistency, and efficiency.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, operations analytics, statistic, data science, or a similar data-driven role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with at least one data analysis or automation tool such as Python, R, VBA, Tableau, Metabase, or Superset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous fraud or business questions into clear analysis, insights, and recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, take ownership, and operate in a fast-moving fraud environment.

It’s Great if You Have:

  • Experience in fraud, risk, payments, chargebacks, e-commerce, online travel, or financial services.
  • Experience with dashboarding or visualization tools such as Tableau, Superset, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted approaches to improve fraud operations or data analysis workflows.
