As a freelance SME, you will work alongside dss+ teams and client stakeholders to assess, strengthen, and improve asset integrity programmes, helping organisations manage risk, improve reliability, and protect people, assets, and the environment.

This is an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects across Canada, working in remote and operationally challenging environments where asset integrity is critical to safe and sustainable performance.

Your Impact at dss+

You will lead and support asset integrity workstreams within client engagements, applying your expertise to identify risks, improve asset management practices, and strengthen operational performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct asset integrity assessments and reviews across client operations

  • Evaluate asset management systems, inspection programmes, and integrity management processes

  • Identify integrity risks and develop practical recommendations to improve asset reliability and performance

  • Support clients in implementing asset integrity and risk management improvements

  • Facilitate workshops, assessments, and stakeholder discussions

  • Work closely with operational, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams

  • Contribute to the development of sustainable asset integrity strategies and programmes

  • Support the delivery of broader operational risk and operational excellence initiatives where required

Who You Are

You bring strong analytical thinking, a curious mindset, and the ability to work effectively in diverse, international environments. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders, solving complex problems, and contributing to meaningful outcomes.

You are an experienced asset integrity professional with a strong background in industrial operations and risk management. You are either an established independent consultant or available for project-based freelance assignments and able to deliver impact from day one.

Experience

  • Significant experience in asset integrity, asset management, reliability, or operational risk management

  • Experience working within asset-intensive industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Chemicals, Power & Utilities, or Industrial Manufacturing

  • Proven experience assessing and improving asset integrity programmes and management systems

  • Experience engaging with operational, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams

  • Experience delivering projects within complex or remote operational environments

Capabilities

  • Strong understanding of asset integrity principles, risk management, and operational reliability

  • Ability to identify critical risks and develop practical improvement recommendations

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within client environments

Education & Languages

  • Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Reliability, Maintenance, or a related discipline

  • Fluency in English (mandatory)

  • Fluency in French (mandatory)

Mobility

  • Willingness to travel extensively across Canada

  • Comfortable working on-site in remote and challenging operational locations

  • Available for freelance and contract-based assignments
