Freelance Data Analyst (3-Month Project)
Summary
A three-month freelance, full-time on-site data analysis project in George Town, Penang. The analyst collects, cleans and validates data, builds reports and dashboards, reconciles inconsistencies and presents findings — primarily using Microsoft Excel, with Power BI, Tableau, SQL or Python as an advantage.
We are looking for a capable and analytical individual to support a three-month data-analysis project. Applicants from different backgrounds are welcome, including career returners, homemakers, retirees and experienced professionals seeking a short-term project.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, organise and validate project data.
- Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, errors and useful insights.
- Prepare reports, summaries, dashboards and data visualisations.
- Convert raw data into clear and practical business findings.
- Perform data reconciliation and investigate inconsistencies.
- Work closely with the project team to understand reporting requirements.
- Present findings clearly to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of data sources, calculations and analysis methods.
- Protect the confidentiality and integrity of company or customer information.
- Complete all agreed deliverables within the three-month project timeline.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables and data-cleaning functions.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or similar tools would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to explain findings in a simple and understandable manner.
- Careful, organised and able to work with large volumes of information.
- Able to work independently while coordinating with the project team.
- Must be available to work full-time from the office for the entire three-month project.
