Freelance Senior Data Engineer building and maintaining Python-based ETL pipelines and cloud data models to support an eCrime defense team's threat detection and investigation efforts.
We’re looking for a Freelance Senior Data Engineer with strong Python and Data Engineering expertise to support an eCrime Defense team focused on detecting, investigating, and preventing cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python
- Develop ETL workflows for security data, threat intelligence, and incident response
- Integrate and enrich external threat intelligence feeds
- Work with cybersecurity teams to build data-driven solutions
- Design and optimize cloud-based data models
- Implement data validation, quality checks, and anomaly detection
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines in real time
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance
Required Skills
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Strong hands-on Python development
- Experience with ETL and data pipelines
- Strong knowledge of Pandas, PySpark, Requests, SQLAlchemy, and SQL
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong understanding of data modeling, validation, and governance
- Familiarity with STIX/TAXII, Syslog, NetFlow, or similar cybersecurity data formats
Good to Have
- Apache Airflow, Kafka, or Spark
- SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
- Understanding of cyber threat TTPs / eCrime
- AWS, GCP, or GIAC certifications
