Freelance Video Editor & Motion Designer (Project-Based Contract)

Summary

Freelance video editor and motion designer creating long-form interviews, social cuts, YouTube episodes, and animated explainers for a South African fintech company’s content engine.

About the role

Sourcefin is a leading South African alternative funding provider for SMMEs. We’re hiring freelance video editors and motion designers to power our content engine on an ongoing, project-by-project basis.

What you’ll work on

What you’ll edit: turning our monthly filming day into a weekly drumbeat of long-form interviews, short-form social cuts, YouTube-packaged episodes and animated explainers for The Great Enabler, plus campaign and activation edits. Projects are booked and quoted individually; work is regular but scoped per brief.

Who we’re looking for

We work with editors of every stripe — long-form storytellers, snappy short-form social editors, YouTube-packaging specialists, and motion/animation designers. Animation and motion graphics are a speciality we specifically need, so flag it clearly if that’s your strength. Tell us what you’re genuinely great at rather than claiming everything.

How to apply

Share a showreel or portfolio link, tell us your specialities and your rates (day, half-day, per-project and hourly), the gear or tools you bring, and where you’re based and how far you’ll travel. Please also record a short 60–90 second video intro — your speciality and the best project you’ve worked on and its outcome. It doesn’t need to be polished; we want to hear how you talk about your work.

The essentials

Freelance / independent contractor, project-based. Remote, with travel to shoots, events or our offices as each brief requires. You quote per project and invoice on delivery; nothing is exclusive.
