Front End Developer (React)

SafeDay (Dolphin Dynamics Labs) is a profitable SaaS company headquartered inSingapore. Our platform protects frontline workers at some of the world’s largest high-risk operations, processing millions of safety checks monthly across 100+ sites. Eight years in and expanding.

We are hiring a Front End Developer to join our Singapore development team and work directly with experienced colleagues and the founders. This role suits someone early in their career who wants to grow into a strong engineer.

Our codebase is not a typical simple React website. Most workflows and dashboards are generated by our in-house developed form engine and component framework with complex components and orchestration rather than hard-coded JSX. The app works offline, with local state and optimistic cache updates that sync when the device reconnects. You won’t know all this on day one, and we don’t expect you to. We will teach you. What we need is solid fundamentals, curiosity, and the patience to learn and work through hard problems. In return, you’ll grow fast as an engineer.

You will start on well-scoped challenges supported by the team, then take on more as you learn the platform. Your work will be used in the field within weeks.

What you will do:

• Work with our form engine to configure and extend screens and workflows
• Build and maintain React components and features
• Full lifecycle: design, prototype, build, unit and release testing across devices
• Analyse production issues and fix bugs

What we are looking for:

• 1+ years of hands-on React experience. Strong graduates and bootcamp alumni with real projects are welcome
• Good grasp of modern JavaScript (ES6+): async/await, promises, array and object handling
• Understanding of React state, props, hooks and component lifecycle
• Exposure to Final-form, GraphQL/Apollo, Material-UI and Redux is a plus
• Willingness to read and understand existing code before changing it
• You use AI tools to work faster, not to think for you. We use Claude Enterprise. You need to understand the problem and the suggested code, then fit the change cleanly into the existing codebase. Leave it better than you found it, not more complicated. We don’t vibe code. Sustainable code needs critical thinking and real understanding.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with UX design standards such as Material Design
• Any experience with AWS (Lambda, AppSync, Cognito)
• React Native or mobile app experience
• French or Mandarin (for app and support translation)

How we work
You will be part of a cross-functional team with a flat structure and shared responsibility for the app. We work hybrid: three fixed office days (Tuesday,Wednesday and Friday) and two from home. Fixed days mean you are in the office when your team is, so you learn faster and have the support needed to contribute to the solution.

Our hiring process

Shortlisted candidates will join a React and ES6 pair programming session with our team.You write the code. We start simple and gradually move into more complex concepts. We care about clean, simple solutions. Unnecessary complexity makes code harder to support, harder to secure and slower to change.
