A leading Capital Markets business is seeking a hands-on BA/PM (hybrid) to strengthen its Front Office Regulatory Controls function, with core emphasis on algorithmic trading governance and RTS 6 compliance. This role sits at the centre of how the business identifies, classifies, and controls algo trading activity across the front office.
This is a high-visibility, fast-paced role working directly with a senior stakeholder within a lean team. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating autonomously, managing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive algo trading governance activity — supporting the identification, classification, and control of algorithmic and electronic trading strategies in line with RTS 6 requirements
Partner closely with Front Office Sales & Trading, COO, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Business Control Officers (BCOs), and Technology teams
Analyse and support resolution of front office regulatory and control issues, including:
Algo/e-trading control breaches
Trader incidents
Electronic trading queries
Limit management
Lead structured reviews to classify products, strategies, and desks against algo trading and RTS 6 definitions, using frameworks such as questionnaires and control matrices
Conduct process reviews and gap analyses to strengthen algo governance and control frameworks
Work directly with a Senior Subject Matter Expert to define problems, shape solutions, and drive delivery end-to-end
Produce clear, structured documentation, analysis, and reporting to progress algo governance and RTS 6-related issues through to resolution
Engage senior stakeholders (e.g. Heads of Desk, BCOs) on algo classification decisions and control remediation
Take ownership of assigned initiatives, acting as the sole BA aligned to a desk, with full accountability for delivery
Key Requirements
Essential:
Proven BA experience within Front Office (Sales & Trading), with direct exposure to algorithmic trading and algo governance frameworks
Strong working knowledge of MiFID II RTS 6 — algorithmic and electronic trading requirements — and how it applies in practice to desk-level controls
Experience on regulatory/controls-focused initiatives, including algo trading control breaches, trader incidents, e-trading controls, and limit management
Experience delivering change initiatives (hybrid BA/PM capability)
Ability to operate independently as the sole BA supporting a desk
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
High level of self-management, prioritisation, and accountability
Ability to quickly grasp complex regulatory/algo governance topics and translate into actionable outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
Profile Fit
Best suited to someone who:
Has hands-on BA and change delivery experience, ideally with prior algo trading/algo governance/RTS 6 exposure (not a quant or purely technical profile)
Can take direction, execute effectively, and deliver outcomes
Is comfortable working in a lean, high-autonomy environment
Builds strong relationships across Front Office and Control functions
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability setting
