Frontend Developer

Project Overview:
- A working SaaS platform where businesses upload their documents and an AI agent answers customer questions from them.
- The product is live with paying users.

Required Responsibilities:
- Implement real-time chat functionality using WebSocket connection for live messaging.
- Manage typing indicators and message status including sent, delivered, and read indicators.
- Develop auto-scroll that respects user scroll position.
- Establish robust reconnection handling.
- Fix modal z-index stacking issues.
- Eliminate full page reloads on state changes.
- Add proper loading and error states.
- Utilize React.memo and useCallback to improve performance where it actually helps.
- Create unit tests for components.
- Create integration tests for the chat flow.
- Update the interface to look and feel like an AI support product.

Technical Requirements:
- Next.js 14 (Pages Router).
- React 18.
- TypeScript.
- Tailwind CSS 3.
- Sass/SCSS.
- Framer Motion.

Desired Qualifications:
- Strong React and TypeScript skills.
- Experience building real-time features using WebSockets or similar technologies in a frontend environment.
- Comfortable with Tailwind CSS and responsive, accessible UI.
- Ability to transform a messy dashboard into a clean, fast, and usable interface.
- Capability to explain frontend work to a non-technical project owner by showing, not describing code.
