Frontend Developer – React / TypeScript

In this role you will own frontend development for modern, secure digital services used in central government. You’ll collaborate with backend engineers, architects and product teams to deliver accessible, responsive interfaces and intuitive user journeys. You’ll prototype concepts to shape requirements, contribute to testing and CI/CD, and uphold frontend standards. This is a hands-on position focused on quality and usability within complex public sector programs.

• Build and maintain modern applications using React and TypeScript, from components to service integration
• Develop accessible, responsive interfaces and dashboards
• Integrate frontend with REST APIs, authentication services and RBAC
• Create prototypes to demonstrate concepts and influence stakeholder requirements
• Contribute to testing, code reviews, CI/CD and frontend engineering standards

• 5+ years of frontend development experience with strong React and TypeScript expertise
• Strong JavaScript, HTML and CSS fundamentals, ideally including Tailwind CSS
• Experience integrating REST APIs and building secure, production-grade applications
• Jest and React Testing Library experience, with solid Git-based practices
• Experience building prototypes using Lovable or comparable tools
• Good understanding of accessibility and responsive design for varied user groups
• Exposure to Entra ID, MSAL, Keycloak, React Router, Redux, Vite, Radix UI/shadcn, data visualization, Docker or GitHub Actions would be beneficial
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance
