Frontend Developer (Shopify)
Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 6,000 per month
Jumpstart Commerce Sdn Bhd is looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to join our team. You will build and maintain the user-facing experience of our eCommerce work on Shopify, ship high-quality storefront and app UI, and use modern AI development tools (including Cursor) to move faster without lowering the bar on quality. A big part of this role is connecting systems — Shopify with internal tools, third-party apps, and APIs — so merchants and customers get a seamless experience.
What you'll be doing
Build responsive, mobile-first interfaces for Shopify storefronts, themes, and related front-end surfaces (HTML, CSS, JavaScript / modern frameworks)
Translate design mockups into clean, accessible, pixel-accurate pages and components
Work confidently in the Shopify ecosystem: Liquid, theme architecture, Online Store 2.0 patterns, Shopify APIs / Storefront API, apps, and metafields where needed
Integrate front-end components with back-end services, Shopify Admin/Storefront APIs, and third-party systems (CRM, ERP, marketing, logistics, payment, or internal tools)
Use AI coding tools such as Cursor day-to-day to accelerate implementation, refactoring, debugging, and documentation — while reviewing output carefully and owning the final code
Optimize for performance, Core Web Vitals, and cross-browser compatibility on Shopify storefronts
Troubleshoot front-end issues across themes, apps, and integration layers
Partner with design, product, and merchant-facing teams to ship reliable, maintainable solutions
Contribute to improving our front-end standards, component reuse, and integration patterns
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Frontend Developer
Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus hands-on experience with at least one modern framework (React, Vue, or similar)
Solid Shopify experience: themes, Liquid, customizations, and working with Shopify APIs / apps
Experience integrating front-end work with APIs and multi-system workflows (not just static UI)
Comfortable using AI development tools (Cursor or similar) as part of a professional workflow
Experience with responsive design, accessibility basics, and performance optimization
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving eCommerce environment
Nice to have
Shopify Plus project experience
Hydrogen / Oxygen or headless Shopify experience
TypeScript, GraphQL, webhook-based integrations
Familiarity with middleware, iPaaS, or custom integration layers between Shopify and other systems
