Frontend Developer

Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year

• At least 3 years of professional full-stack development experience at mid-level; 3 years of front-end development experience required
• Strong proficiency in React, including component design, state management and responsive layouts
• Solid HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills; TypeScript preferred
• Some experience building server-side services with Node.js or a similar language and framework, or willingness to learn
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor in day-to-day development
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks and raise issues clearly with senior colleagues
• English language required
• United Kingdom work authorisation required
• London, Greater London location required; reliable commuting or plans to relocate preferred
• Desirable: Familiarity with Next.js or other React-based frameworks
• Desirable: Experience building or contributing to design systems and component libraries
• Desirable: Knowledge of WCAG web accessibility standards
• Desirable: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library or Playwright

• Build user-friendly, responsive React interfaces and interactive features across devices and screen sizes
• Build and maintain APIs and backend services that support our web applications
• Write clean, tested and reusable code, and optimise applications for speed, security and maintainability
• Investigate and fix bugs across the stack, escalating issues to senior engineers with clear context when needed
• Use AI coding tools effectively, efficiently and responsibly, reviewing generated code carefully
• Work with developers, designers and stakeholders to plan and deliver new features
• Take ownership of work from start to finish, use initiative and identify and raise problems early

You will work with our Lead Frontend Engineer on new customer-facing applications and modernising existing systems, with a strong focus on React frontend development and opportunities to contribute to supporting backend services. This role can grow towards a senior frontend specialist or product engineering position.
