Frontend Engineer

As a Front-end Engineer, you'll build and enhance our web applications and internal tools, working closely with senior engineers on design and architecture decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teamsproduct, backend, ML, and designto create data-rich dashboards and interfaces used by global growers and partners. You'll contribute to building and improving our front-end features, writing clean, maintainable code, and growing your skills through code reviews and mentorship from senior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and improve features in Polybee's web applications and dashboards.
• Build fast, interactive, and responsive UIs for data-intensive applications using modern frameworks (React preferred).
• Collaborate with designers to translate Figma/UI mockups into accurate, responsive front-end experiences.
• Integrate with REST/GraphQL APIs and visualize real-time data from drones and computer vision models.
• Build interactive visualizations (charts, geospatial maps, time-series plots) using D3.js or other visualization libraries, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Help identify and fix performance issues and ensure cross-browser/device compatibility.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for the features you build.
• Participate in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback, to maintain code quality.
• Work closely with backend and ML engineers to ensure smooth data flow and real-time updates.
• Stay updated with new front-end technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in front-end development.
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+); working experience with TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React.js (or Vue / Angular) and at least one state management library (Redux / Zustand / MobX).
• Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, or CSS-in-JS methodologies.
• Experience integrating APIs and managing asynchronous data flows.
• Basic familiarity with build tools (Vite / Webpack / Rollup).
• Exposure to front-end testing (Jest, Cypress, or Playwright).
• Understanding of responsive design principles and awareness of web performance best practices.
• Good sense of UI/UX and ability to work closely with design teams.
• Good problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills, with eagerness to learn.

Good to Have (Preferred Skills):

• Experience with data visualization (D3.js, Recharts, Plotly, or similar).
• Familiarity with geospatial data, WebGL, or Canvas rendering.
• Exposure to IoT / robotics/drone data interfaces.
• Experience deploying apps on cloud environments (AWS / GCP).
• Prior work experience in agri-tech, AI, or sustainability-focused startups.
