Summary

Early frontend hire at Rendy, a Bangkok-based peer-to-peer marketplace for renting equipment like cameras and gear. You'll architect and build web apps with React, Next.js, and TypeScript — booking flows, real-time inventory, Stripe payment UIs — while testing critical flows and using AI agents to boost productivity.

Salary: ฿40,000 – ฿50,000 per month

About Rendy

Rendy is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects people who own high-quality equipment (cameras, gear, etc.) with people who need to rent it. We are building the engine that powers the sharing economy, allowing everyday individuals to monetize their unused gear safely and seamlessly.

We are scaling our core platform that processes thousands of bookings, manages complex payment routing, handles security holds, and powers real-time inventory synchronization across a two-sided marketplace.

As an early frontend engineering hire, you won't just be building screens—you will be architecting scalable user interfaces, designing robust component systems, and building the seamless, trust-inspiring web applications that connect our community of owners and renters.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to build and scale Rendy's web applications. You will own the design and implementation of critical user interfaces that power our peer-to-peer marketplace, including complex booking flows, dynamic inventory search, real-time messaging, and intuitive dashboard experiences for both renters and owners.

You will work autonomously in a lean engineering team, making architectural decisions that directly impact product velocity and user experience. As an early-stage hire, you'll shape how we build, test, and ship our frontend architecture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Architecture & Development: Architect and build scalable, highly responsive web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. Design clear component boundaries, maintainable file structures, and robust client-side routing.

  • State Management & Data Fetching: Implement efficient state management and data fetching strategies to seamlessly connect with our backend microservices and APIs. Manage complex UI states for booking workflows and real-time inventory updates.

  • UI/UX Implementation: Translate design requirements into pixel-perfect, accessible, and responsive user interfaces. Ensure a flawless experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.

  • Performance Optimization: Obsess over Core Web Vitals and frontend performance. Implement lazy loading, image optimization, and efficient bundle management to ensure lightning-fast load times.

  • Security & Trust: Implement secure client-side practices to protect user data and integrate complex, secure payment UI flows (e.g., Stripe Elements) while maintaining a frictionless user experience.

  • Testing & Reliability: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for critical user flows. Design a resilient UI that handles API failures gracefully and provides clear, empathetic error states to the user.

  • Leverage AI-Assisted Development: Use AI agents and code generation tools effectively to accelerate development—writing boilerplate, generating test cases, analyzing complex logic, debugging, and refactoring code. Stay current with modern AI-assisted development practices to maximize your individual productivity.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional frontend software development, with a strong portfolio of complex web applications.

  • Core Stack: Expert-level proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript. Strong understanding of modern CSS frameworks (like Tailwind) and component-driven design.

  • The Right Qualities: You are a self-starter who thrives in an autonomous environment, open-minded to new approaches and feedback, possess a rigorous attention to detail, and are a great problem solver who can untangle complex product requirements.

  • User Empathy & Design Sense: You care deeply about the end-user experience. You have a strong intuition for what makes a great UI and can bridge the gap between design and technical execution.

  • Marketplace Experience: Prior experience building user interfaces for two-sided marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, booking engines, or complex financial workflows is highly preferred.

  • AI Agent Fluency: Comfortable using AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development—code generation, test writing, debugging, and refactoring. You understand when and how to delegate tasks to AI effectively while maintaining code quality.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with Node.js, Fastify, or Express to comfortably navigate backend context or unblock yourself.

  • Experience with Figma and translating design tokens into code.

  • Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Vercel, Firebase Hosting).

  • Prior startup experience and comfort with rapid iteration.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with equity

  • Flexible working hours and remote-friendly culture

  • Opportunity to architect and build a platform from the ground up

  • Direct impact on product direction and business growth

  • Learning opportunity in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Work alongside founders and a lean, skilled engineering team
