Frontend Engineering Team Lead
Summary
Lead a small team of engineers to build and optimize high-traffic customer-facing web platforms using React, Next.js, and cloud services.
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to lead a team of 4–5 engineers responsible for critical customer-facing web experiences used at significant scale.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can stay close to the technology while improving how the team makes decisions, solves complex problems and delivers.
What you’ll do
You’ll be responsible for:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of 4–5 engineers
Owning technical direction across a high-traffic web platform
Improving Core Web Vitals, SEO, latency and overall web performance
Driving better engineering velocity and removing technical blockers
Leading architecture and system design discussions
Improving technical standards, code quality and engineering practices
Managing technical debt and cross-team dependencies
Partnering closely with Product and Design
Helping the team make pragmatic technical trade-offs
Communicating technical risks, options and recommendations to senior stakeholders
You’ll remain technically involved where it matters, including architecture, solution design, code reviews and complex engineering decisions, without becoming the person every decision depends on.
What we’re looking for
You’ll likely come from a background as an Engineering Team Lead, Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer or hands-on Engineering Manager.
You should have strong experience across:
React.js
Next.js
Server-Side Rendering
Core Web Vitals
Web performance and scalability
High-traffic customer-facing platforms
System design and architecture
APIs and distributed services
Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
Direct people leadership
Product and stakeholder management
Experience with GraphQL, micro-frontends, modern application security and AI coding tools would also be valuable.
