Frontend Software Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain web-based operator interfaces for mission-critical Air Traffic Control systems in a collaborative, safety-focused team. Core stack is TypeScript and React, with automated testing (Vitest/Jest, Playwright/Cypress), CI/CD tooling, and optionally mapping, data-viz, and real-time (WebSockets/Electron) work.
- You have professional experience in frontend software development and a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- You approach complex problems with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and are comfortable working in safety-critical environments where quality and reliability are paramount.
- You are self-motivated and collaborative, you value knowledge sharing, and you actively contribute to continuous improvement — both in code and in development processes.
- You are able to translate technical concepts into clear outcomes and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, high-quality systems.
Professional Requirements
- University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Professional experience building production web frontends with TypeScript and React (or a comparable component framework)
- Strong command of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and browser fundamentals (rendering, state, async, debugging with browser devtools)
- Experience writing automated tests — unit and end-to-end (e.g. Vitest/Jest and Playwright/Cypress)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams
- English language proficiency, both written and verbal
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software development is preferred
- Familiarity with modern build tooling (Vite/Webpack) and modular or plugin-based frontend architectures
- Experience with state management at scale (Redux Toolkit or similar) and a component library (e.g. Mantine, MUI, Chakra)
- Experience with data-visualization or mapping libraries (D3, MapLibre, Leaflet)
- Experience with real-time data (WebSockets) and/or desktop delivery via Electron
- A strong eye for accessibility, usability, and performance in operator-facing UIs
- A background in the ATM/ATC domain is a plus
- Solid problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently
- A user-centric approach combined with the ability and willingness to learn
