Frozen Food Supervisor

Job Summary

The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Frozen Department by ensuring product availability, inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and outstanding customer service. This position leads department associates, maintains company standards, and helps drive sales growth while controlling shrink and operating expenses. The Frozen Supervisor works closely with store leadership to ensure the department remains organized, stocked, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities Department Operations

• Oversee daily Frozen Department activities and workflow.
• Ensure frozen cases and displays are properly stocked, organized, and merchandised.
• Monitor product levels to maintain in-stock conditions and minimize out-of-stocks.
• Execute merchandising plans, seasonal programs, and promotional displays.
• Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.

Customer Service

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
• Assist customers with product selection, location of merchandise, and special requests.
• Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Foster a customer-focused culture within the department.

Inventory & Merchandising

• Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory management.
• Monitor inventory levels and product movement to ensure optimal replenishment.
• Verify pricing accuracy and proper signage throughout the department.
• Ensure proper product rotation using first-in, first-out (FIFO) standards.
• Help control shrink and minimize product loss.

Food Safety & Compliance

• Maintain proper temperature controls and ensure product integrity.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Ensure safe product handling, storage, and rotation practices.
• Support department readiness for inspections and operational audits.

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise and support frozen department associates.
• Train, coach, and develop team members on department standards and procedures.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor completion.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Provide performance feedback and support associate growth and development.

Financial Performance

• Support achievement of department sales and profitability goals.
• Monitor labor productivity and operational efficiency.
• Assist in controlling department expenses and reducing waste.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous grocery, frozen foods, retail, or merchandising experience preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout scheduled shifts.
• Frequently lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in cold and freezer environments for extended periods.
• Ability to push and pull loaded carts, pallets, and stocking equipment safely.
