HSE Engineer – Job Description
An HSE Engineer (Health, Safety, and Environment Engineer) is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental procedures at construction and engineering project sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with UAE safety regulations, project requirements, and company HSE policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems at project sites.
Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Prepare Risk Assessments (RA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Method Statements.
Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, local authority requirements, and client safety standards.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training for employees and subcontractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure safe working practices.
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain HSE documentation, inspection reports, incident records, and safety statistics.
Monitor environmental protection measures, waste management, and emergency preparedness procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent, as required by the project.
Experience in construction, MEP, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
Good knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction site safety procedures.
Strong communication, reporting, problem-solving, and inspection skills.
UAE project experience is preferred.
