Qualifications & Skills
- Speak, read, and write fluent English
- Ability and skill to identify areas of improvement for food safety and quality
- Proficient in basic arithmetic & mathematics
- Integrity and discipline to follow and enforce procedures for food safety and quality
- Ability to lead, mentor, and train other employees
- Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in food science or similar experience
- Aid in supporting customers with human and animal food product development
- Proficient with computers, digital information, and quality management software
- Deep understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and other food production related systems
- Strong aptitude for technology and organizing digital information
Description & Responsibilities
The FSQA Manager will own and drive improvement in our food safety and quality systems while working with a small, tight FSQ team. They will supervise and work alongside FSQ Coordinators who will assist with execution. They will also assist with day-to-day food safety and quality activities in a facility that processes a variety of dry food & agricultural materials with a semi-automated food processing system. The environment may be loud, dusty, warm, cold, or smelly. This includes the following responsibilities:
- Generally administering, refining, and executing on our overall food safety system
- Driving and assisting internal audits and managing 3rd party audits
- Drive strategy, program development, and process improvement
- Aid in conducting and refining EMP monitoring ensuring a pathogen free environment
- Help refine and verify food safety and quality goals are being met
Communicate shortcomings, challenges, needs, solutions of the quality dept
Analyzing, creating, refining, auditing various food safety documents including HACCP plans
Conduct internal food safety & quality audits & implementing CAPA responses
HAACP analysis & QC verifications
Creating and conducting studies such as sanitation validation studies
