FUL Engineering Equipment Operator
You will serve as an Engineering Equipment Operator, within Chesapeake and Ohio Canal NHP. The purpose of this position is to operate construction heavy equipment on various terrain and/or construction sites. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as permanent appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately 11 1/2 months, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Operates heavy equipment including bulldozers, road graders, backhoes and excavators to perform construction and maintenance activities for roads, campgrounds, underground utilities, site grading, septic systems, and range improvement projects. Independently plans and executes work within acceptable tolerances without direct supervision. Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, filter changes, and similar without supervision to keep equipment in good working order. Arranges to have periodic maintenance and repair work completed on heavy equipment as required. Loads, secures, and transports equipment using 120,000-pound GCVW trailer and tractor transport or dump truck with trailer.

Driver's License: Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. Commercial Driver's License: Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A endorsement and no restrictions. Uniform: You are required to wear a uniform and comply with the uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. Minimum Age: Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program. *Additional Requirements located under qualifications*
