Full Stack AI Developer - also owns QA testing and DevOps
Summary
Full-stack developer at a small Bengaluru AI startup who builds features end to end — frontend screens, backend APIs and database schemas — and also owns QA testing and DevOps (CI/CD, cloud infra, monitoring). Stack spans JavaScript/React (or Vue/Angular), Node/Python/PHP/Java backends, SQL databases, Docker and AWS/GCP/Azure deployment.
Compensation: ₹3.6L – ₹5L • No equity
About the role You build the feature, test it, deploy it and keep it running. In a five-person tech team there is no separate release engineer, so the person who writes the code also writes the tests and owns the deployment.
Key responsibilities
- Development
- Build and maintain frontend screens, backend APIs and database schemas for the platform and internal tools.
- Integrate third-party services: payments, WhatsApp and email, CRM, analytics.
- Review the other developer's code and keep the codebase readable.
- QA and testing
- Write unit, integration and API tests for your own code before it reaches the tester.
- Build and maintain an automated regression suite for critical user flows.
- Reproduce, triage and fix bugs raised by QA or clients; keep staging matching production.
- DevOps
- Own CI/CD - automated build, test and deploy with rollback.
- Manage cloud infrastructure: servers, databases, domains, SSL, environment variables and secrets.
- Set up monitoring, logging, uptime alerts and backups, and respond when something breaks.
- Keep deployment and setup documented.
Must-have skills
- JavaScript with React, Next.js, Vue or Angular; Flutter; HTML, CSS and responsive layouts
- Strong in one backend: Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), PHP (Laravel) or Java (Spring Boot)
- REST API design, authentication and role-based access
- SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL) including joins, indexing and query tuning; basic MongoDB
- Unit and integration testing (Jest, PyTest or PHPUnit)
- API testing in Postman and one UI automation tool (Cypress, Playwright or Selenium)
- Git and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins)
- Docker and Linux command line
- Deploying on AWS, GCP, Azure or a VPS; Nginx, SSL and DNS
- Reading logs, debugging production issues, setting up backups and monitoring
Good to have
- TypeScript; Terraform or Kubernetes; workflow automation (n8n, Zapier, Apps Script, Python scripts).
- Payment gateway integration (Razorpay, Stripe, Cashfree) and GST or invoicing logic.
- Work with AI/LLM APIs.
- Early-stage startup experience where you were the only person who could deploy.
Eligibility criteria We shortlist on demonstrated skill. No college tier, branch, CGPA or brand-name-employer filter.
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on development, including a product you built and deployed yourself.
- Working code you can show: GitHub, a live URL or a repo you can walk us through.
- You have written tests for your own code in a real project, not only in a course.
- You have deployed and maintained an app on a server and handled a production issue.
- Any graduate stream; self-taught and bootcamp developers welcome.
- Available full-time, on-site.
We will not shortlist candidates whose only evidence is certificates, or who have never configured a deployment, or who want a frontend-only or backend-only scope.
