12-month contract in Johannesburg: own feature delivery end-to-end for critical banking/credit applications — building accessible Angular frontends, SQL Server schemas and REST APIs, integrating Java/Spring Boot microservices, and owning Docker/CI-CD pipelines plus legacy modernization, alongside analysts, testers and credit specialists.
You will own feature delivery end-to-end: building responsive frontends, designing robust REST APIs, and automating pipelines while collaborating closely with business analysts, testers, and credit specialists. Beyond new feature development, you’ll play a key role in modernizing legacy architectures and scaling critical banking applications.
The Tech Stack Deep-Dive
Must-Haves
- Frontend: Angular (5+ yrs, Signals, RxJS, Routing), TypeScript, HTML5/SCSS, Accessibility Standards
- Data: SQL Server, T-SQL, Relational Data Modeling
Nice-to-Haves
- Frontend Architecture: Micro-frontends (Module Federation/Native), In-house Design Systems, PrimeNG, Angular Material
- Backend & Legacy: JBoss EAP, Older Java version migrations
- Data & Testing: Neo4j, Playwright, Vitest

Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Feature Delivery: Build accessible, responsive Angular UI components and integrate them seamlessly with backend Java/Spring Boot microservices.
- Database & API Design: Model relational schemas on SQL Server and write optimized T-SQL queries alongside clean OpenAPI REST endpoints.
- Pipeline & Deployment Ownership: Containerize applications using Docker, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and manage releases through controlled change environments.
- Production Excellence: Drive root-cause analysis for production issues and continuously enhance, support, and modernize existing applications.
