Summary

Full stack developer building and maintaining Arrow's proprietary logistics platform (AOS): .NET/C# backend APIs and PostgreSQL schemas, plus React/TypeScript customer portal and MAUI driver app, with AWS ECS and CI/CD. On-site role based in Melbourne or Brisbane at a national port cartage and transport company.

Arrow Transport & Logistics is a leading Australian port cartage and logistics company operating nationally across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Townsville. We manage the full lifecycle of containerised freight – from vessel arrival and port collection through to delivery, unpacking, and empty container return.

Our proprietary Arrow Operating System (AOS) powers 100% of our operations, and we are scaling our technology team to accelerate product development and support our growth. This is an exciting time to join the IT team at Arrow as we drive value from our investment in leading technologies and look to be a disruptor in the industry. Key to this phase is building stronger technical foundations that enable more timely, data-driven decision making across the business and better experiences for our internal and external stakeholders.

This role can be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane.

Role Overview

The Full Stack Developer works across the Arrow Operating System (AOS) platform, from backend services and databases through to the customer- and driver-facing applications built on top of it. You will build and maintain .NET APIs and services for the core AOS platform, and deliver frontend features for Customer Portal 2.0 and Driver App 2.0.

This role suits a developer with strong .NET backend depth who is equally comfortable building React interfaces. You will work closely with our Software Development Lead, Product Owner, and the wider development team to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions on production applications used daily by 300+ drivers and 500+ portal users across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development (AOS Platform)

• Develop and maintain backend services for the AOS platform using .NET 10 and C#.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and contribute to the platform’s architecture.

• Design, optimise, and maintain database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL.

• Support DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and AWS ECS deployments.

Frontend & Mobile Development

• Build UI components and features for Customer Portal 2.0 using React and TypeScript.

• Develop features for Driver App 2.0 using MAUI.

• Integrate frontend and mobile applications with .NET backend APIs.

Code Quality & Testing

• Write clean, maintainable code that follows team standards.

• Write unit and automated tests for backend services and frontend components.

• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing across the development team.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Collaborate closely with the wider development team on design, delivery, and support.

• Participate in Agile stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

• Work with the Software Development Lead to break down features and estimate work across the stack.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional .NET development experience.

• 2+ years of professional React development experience.

• Strong expertise in C# and ASP.NET Core.

• Solid understanding of React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

• Experience with PostgreSQL database design.

• Experience with RESTful API design.

• Familiarity with CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap).

• Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3) or Azure.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and Agile tooling such as Linear.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain software.

• MAUI mobile development experience.

• Experience with state management libraries.

• Docker experience.

• Automated testing experience (xUnit, Jest).

Personal Attributes

• Comfortable working across the full stack and moving between backend and frontend work as priorities change.

• Strong analytical thinker who can translate operational requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Clear, proactive communicator who works effectively with team members across locations.

• Takes ownership of code quality and enjoys both learning from and supporting other developers.

• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities within a sprint.

What we offer:

  • Work on a platform that matters: Build features on the Arrow Operating System, which powers 100% of our operations, and see your work used daily by 300+ drivers and 500+ portal users across Australia.

  • Real ownership across the stack: Work on .NET 10 APIs, PostgreSQL, React and TypeScript in Customer Portal 2.0, and MAUI in Driver App 2.0, so you grow on both the backend and frontend.

  • Modern technology and practices: Work with AWS ECS, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing in a team investing in stronger technical foundations and data-driven decision making.

  • A growing team and business: Join us as we scale our technology team and expand our national operations, with clear opportunities to develop your career.
