About the job

The Full-Stack Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting business‑critical applications across DRC’s global IT landscape. The role spans backend and frontend development and application support, ensuring that solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with modern cloud and security standards. Working closely with Business Process Owners, Infrastructure, Security, and other development teams, you will contribute to delivering robust applications that support DRC’s humanitarian mission.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, maintain, and support business‑critical applications in production environments
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of applications
  • Ensure secure access and proper role‑based authorization across applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, identifying root causes and ensuring timely resolution
  • Design and implement REST‑based APIs and modern application architectures
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions

About you

To be successful in this role, you are a hands‑on developer with full‑stack capabilities and a solid understanding of modern application development practices. You are comfortable working across the full application life cycle - from development and deployment to troubleshooting and optimization - and bring a proactive mindset to improving system reliability and performance.

We expect the following:

Required:

  • Strong knowledge of Python and backend development, including experience with modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React)
  • Experience working with REST APIs, containerized applications (e.g. Docker), and modern application architecture
  • Experience handling complex data flows and near‑real‑time events
  • Experience with Git‑based version control, CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
  • Experience working with role‑based access control and application permissions, including implementing authentication, authorization, and Single Sign‑On (SSO)
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting applications in production environment
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English

Desirable:

  • SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Bicep or Terraform)
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (or equivalent), including services such as Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Service Bus etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, or Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
